Feather cloak
The Feather Cloak was made in the early 2nd century BC. It was a garment of great price and value to the Romans because it was thought to grant special powers.
Evidence of the use of bird feathers to adorn articles of clothing can be found in early inhabitants ranging across the globe.
Elaborate feather cloaks were created by early Hawaiians to adorn cloaks for the ali`i (royalty). The feathers were collected over a long period of time (typically 1-2 per bird) using a catch and release philosophy to ensure future availability.
